I agree with the advice you've gotten so far.  Tom is right when he says you have to live your own life.

The one thing I don't understand is why if you tell your parents you're taking ballet then you will have to tell them you are gay.  What do the two have to do with eachother, except the link by prejudiced idiots?

Please don't be put off by the jerks (e.g. bubba, NE balletboy) who post on this board that wearing tights and admiring danseurs means you're gay.  These jerks are frauds.  I have traced some of them back to gay sites where they post as gay affectionados in their lycra tights or speedos.  They only post on this board to start controversy with crazy posts.  I admit I got into the frenzy a few times and have had shouting matches here; I'm sorry for that.  Once I regained my composure and traced their web addresses, I found out they were frauds.

So the real advice here comes from a few, and I hope I can include myself in that few.  Some of society will, no matter what, always assume that ballet danseurs are gay...that's the way it is.  Trust me; I've known many guys who take ballet who are not gay.

Now I also know many gay guys who would never take ballet and who hate ballet.  If ballet is supposed to be so attractive to gay males, why would this experience exist?  The fact, in my experience, is that many gay males don't like ballet, so male ballet is not a gay art.

And then again, what about all the females who love male danseurs despite the fact that other people tell them the males are gay?

There's so much prejudice and assumption about male danseurs...it's obvious that it's more hate than truth.

As I cited above, Tom says you have to live your own life.  I agree.

PS: By the way, harrypotter, didn't you post here before?
