There's probably only one way...

Hi Crazy Dance!

I think there might probably only one way to ask about taking ballet at your age and in your position.  Just say you want to do it.  I hope I'm wrong, but after lots of different discussions on this and other boards, that seems to be the one way.  So others here, please help with this question.

My mother refused to let me take ballet, so I couldn't get into classes until high school, when I had a bus pass and found a studio on my bus route.  Parents have different reasons why they refuse to let their boys take ballet, and many of these are based in prejudice.  You have to ask them why they refuse and then deal with those reasons.

Do you do some type of work?  Bagging groceries, cutting lawns, etc.?  Save your money and offer to pay for the classes yourself.  That might sway mom.

Good luck!  Keep us informed.
