Keeping Fit

Hi guys.  As you know my knowledge of ballet is pretty limited because I don't actually dance.  But one thing I do know is that it's probably one of the most physically demanding things a human can attempt.  But we all need a break.  Therefore, what do you do during holiday periods when you're not dancing?  To maintain the same level of fitness do you have to continue doing solitary class at home.  Do you have to rig up temporary studios at home?  In other words can you ever really get away from ballet?  A friend of mine does a lot of swimming and if I remember correctly he said that missing one week of training would require two weeks to catch up!  Is this the same for you?
