Really, to be a good modern dancer, you pretty much need to study classical ballet. Every professional modern dancer takes at least a couple of ballet classes per week. Of course if modern dance is your goal, then you need to find a place that can teach you the kind of modern dance you're interested in. You've said nothing about where you are right now, so it's hard to tell whether that's available in your life. Many people study modern dance when they go to college. Answers to this message:
