I am very feminine even I was very young, and seeing the Nutcracker for the first time, I knew I have to be in tights and dancing on pointe just like the girls. I was the only boy in the academy back home in the Far East, I dressed the same as the girls, and I cried with happyness when I was allowed study pointe.Since I came to US, I found out I am gay and even some of the male dancers thinks if me being too effeminate. I think ballet don't make a boy gay, buy gays are definitely attracted to ballet, it's a dream to be able to wear dancebelts and white tights, pink slippers and pointe shoes 4 or 5 hours a day, being accepted by the girls that I am like them, and the boys gay or straight also accepting my behaviour outside dancing, but when in ballet, I just work to the best of my abilities, abet in a graceful and absolutely not in a masculine way, I dance like a girl and pretend to be one, so for be, ballet makes me way feminine, as I want to be feminine anyway.
