No matter, though. If you were in Bourneville, you're too old if you didn't start at age 4 or 5. Many fancy American companies want to see guys who started at least in thier teens. That's the way it is if you want to get into ABT, NYCB, etc. If you want to join a local or regional company, you have a good chance. I wanted to be a ballet danseur since I was about 4, but my mother disagreed. I started in real classes when I was in high school, without her knowledge. I've spent many happy hours performing at nursing homes, childrens' hospitals, and local performances. The experience is more important. Seriously, as a danseur, you won't make much money where-ever you are. It's the hard work and the dance experience that is important. If you'd like, eamil me.
