I don't think that was the intent of the message.  I think this guy was talking about a different situation.  

I have taken classes in schools that were not air conditioned, at summer camps, etc, like the old Briansky school in Saratoga in the summer.  It's not unusual for the guys to wear just a leotard or trunks with a t-shirt.  Wearing tights in a place where the temperature can be 80+ degrees can help retain too much heat.

By the way, trunks are not really like the bike shorts that some guys wear in class.  Trunks are cut like a speedo with 7 to about 10 inch sides.  Just an FYI.
