The hypothesis, especially its assumption, is not valid. The tights fetishers know full well that there is NO alternative to dancewear for ballet, so they, inherently, would not give an honest reply. In fact, my belief is that if you even hypothesize that there is an alternative to current dancewear for ballet, knowing that the nature of ballet requires functionality and the ability of the teacher to see the muscles in action, the tights fetishers will instinctively be intrigued by this alternative to current dancewear and change their erotic focus to that. In truth, a fetish is a psychiatric disorder. Unless the underlying stresses that cause this outlet are addressed, the fetisher will unlikely change. If you eliminate the object of the fetish, it is highly likely that the fetisher will adopt another focus, most probably one that is similar to the previous. Silk stockings were popular, then we had nylon, and now we have lycra...that change probably never stopped a fetisher! I think we agree that people should not dance just because of a fetish for dancewear. However, I believe that being in dance is a better alternative than having some fetisher standing outside a dance school offering me twenty bucks for my sweat-drenched tights!
