I have been taking ballet for a little while now and I do enjoy it, but I became easily bored with it." What's so boring? There are a lot of demands in ballet....and every exercise is like a mini-performance....make it so! What's so boring? How about swimming laps in a pool? Back and forth for years and years.....but one day you're in Australia and the crowd's cheering and you've set a new worlds record! What's so boring? Spending years out on a golf course hitting a little white ball with a club....over and over again....(poor little white ball!)....but one day you're standing on a historic golf course in Augusta Georgia, hitting that little white ball into a hole in the ground....and earning a (very ugly) green sports coat that says you've just won the Master's Tournement! What's so boring? Spending day after day in an operating room....opening someone's skull....tediously cutting out small pieces of tumor, careful not to more one tiny milimeter right or left...and having that person walk out of the hospital a week later with another chance at life! What's so boring? Life's so boring! But it's what you make out of it. It's the enthusiasm that you put into it. It's the "product" you produce with your own hands (and body) that make's life worth living! We all have to take pride in the little things we do. Just look into your every minute in ballet as a little "product" working towards that gold medal, towards that Master's win, towards that chance for life! After many years in ballet (and other "boring" work in life) I still find the enjoyment of that every minute....if not, what's worth living for? Keep after it! Work to perfect your technique! Work to make every minute of ballet a performance worthy of a gold medal! See that life may seem like one boring minute after another, but make those boring minutes interesting by building your life and future! Anything can be boring...but life is what you make it!
