Hey Tom!

You always know how to put the hum-drum down in exciting prose!

I've lived in New York City on and off since I was a kid.  My parents kept an apartment at a hotel there, and I've had three apartments there.

In NYC all sorts of people, famous and infamous, stroll the streets, shop the stores and ride the escalators.  Once I was in Saks on the escalator and turned around to see Chloris Leachman behind me.  Now that wouldn't be so funny if I wouldn't add the fact that I was standing in line for tickets to Cats! with a friend the night before, and when we got to the window they only had one ticket left.  So I bought it and told my friend to take it, but he refused.  But guess who was behind me that Friday night....Chloris.  With the window shut she looked really depressed, so we gave her our ticket.

The next day in Saks when she was behind me I asked her how she liked Cats!  She turned red, and quitely said she was so tired she fell asleep!

NYC is just the way you describe it!  Sometimes you recognize someone, but half the time you're halfway down the block when your buddy says "Do you know who that was!!!"

David Howard's classes always had/have these people who make you think didn't I see him/her in Dancemagazine last month?

And the really great part about taking ballet classes in NYC is that you never really know who those people at the barre around you may be, acting just like another classmate!
