18 with one year of experience

written by Andrew Alexander  on 04.03. at 03:57:14
ok im gonna hit a few subjects here. i just started ballet a year ago and i fell in love with dancing, ive been working at it almost everyday for 3-4 hours and another 3-4 hours a day working out to get better at it. my teacher is very strict and a perfectionist so im learning alot and i think im learning it right, but she doesnt want me to go to other studios, is this a hinderance or what? most of the stuidos around here arent as good as hers but im told that its better to have more stage experience and my stuido only does one show a year.next im having problems with some of the girls in the studio, at first i was good friends but then a lot of drama took place and now its problematic. i do however maintain compsure and continue dancing, but is it bad to stay in a studio where u have "enemys"?i know i have a long way to go to be a good dancer but im working really hard to catch up and am hopefull someday ill be proficient. I've found out i have a lot of natural ability with following music and lifting girls is easy, also my pointe and turn-out isnt half bad, but my flexibility needs work. im stretching often and im thinking about going to a local pilates studio or yoga. any suggestions? haha sorry about the length but one last thing, my ballet teacher was teaching another male dancer at our studio the sleeping beauty actIII pas de duex, and after a few months of watching and copying him, i could do the bsics of it all, including lifts and prominades. so after seeing this she decided to train me for ballet competitions, im doing the le corsaire pas de duex from actII and have trained since december, my competitions in may. ive only learned the adajio and the male variation but im worried about the finale, she wants me to do (forgive attempted spelling) alesecon turns but im still having trouble with tripple pirouettes(again, apoligies for spelling). can anyone offer help or advice on this?? or maybe some things i can do to help me get it faster?
