If a boy attends classes on time and works hard, it doesn't matter if he is gay, straight, masculine or feminine. All any ballet school looks for in their students is progress. My experience is that this negative attitude towards gay boy dancers usually comes from just one girl in class. It is a girl who finds a cute ballet boy attractive, and who gets pissed when he isn't interested in her that way. She starts bitching about it to the other girls in the class or company, and she spreads this negative attitude. The most important thing in ballet is the final product, the performance. I've seen girls partnered by boyfriends and even husbands, and there is no chemistry between them. I've also seen girls partnered by total screamers and from the stage it looks like they are totally in love. Girls who don't accept gay male dancers are hurting ballet.
