Hi Snow King and Boi!

I agree completely with Snow King. In my experience, one's sexual preferance is secondary to what the class is about--teaching ballet, and seeing the next step improve.

I might add that being "an item" with another dancer in the same studio might also have a dunning impact on the quality of the lessons. I suggest keeping one's personal pursuits private, and outside of the dance instruction environment. Maintaining a "professional distance" will help keep the air free of distraction in the studio.

Boi, it may be time to look for another dance class, if this one has too much negative energy about extraneous matters. I think the girl who prefers to be partnered by a "straight" male dancer is missing out, not because you and your male counterparts are gay, but because she'll be experiencing one, perhaps two, less pair(s) of hands to learn partnering with, and to be lifted by.

Keep On Dancing!

Dear Boi,>One of the great things about ballet is that it accepts everyone.  If a boy attends classes on time and works hard, it doesn't matter if he is gay, straight, masculine or feminine.  All any ballet school looks for in their students is progress.>My experience is that this negative attitude towards gay boy dancers usually comes from just one girl in class.  It is a girl who finds a cute ballet boy attractive, and who gets pissed when he isn't interested in her that way.  She starts bitching about it to the other girls in the class or company, and she spreads this negative attitude.>The most important thing in ballet is the final product, the performance.  I've seen girls partnered by boyfriends and even husbands, and there is no chemistry between them.  I've also seen girls partnered by total screamers and from the stage it looks like they are totally in love.>Girls who don't accept gay male dancers are hurting ballet.>Snow King
